Jenna Our American Language Assistant

Hi I.E.S. Fernando Savater! My name is Jenna Hartsell, and I am one of this year’s “auxiliaries de conversación.” The first picture is of my friend and I in front of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The second picture is of my brother and I on my graduation day.

I’m from San José, California, which is 45 minutes south of San Francisco. San José is the 10th largest city in the U.S. and its nickname is the Silicon Valley. Silicon chips are needed to make computers and Google, Facebook, Apple, Ebay and many other computer and internet companies are from my hometown. I grew up in the suburbs there, but I was also close to the city and the beach.
For the past 4 years, I have been living and going to college in Los Angeles. I studied at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) and I just graduated this past June! I was a part of a sorority and tutored elementary school kids in downtown Los Angeles. I also found time to go to the beach in Santa Monica and Malibu, explore Hollywood, and spend an occasional day at Disneyland.

My mom and dad still live in San José in the house I grew up in, and my younger brother, Zach, is going to college in San Francisco. I also have an old cat, named Sassy.

2 years ago, I studied abroad in Granada for half of a year, and I am very excited to be back in Spain. I enjoy reading, writing, hiking (trekking) and traveling. I look forward to meeting many of you, and I hope we will spend a fun year together. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself to me, or ask me any questions!

~Jenna

And now some questions for you to answer...
1. Which state is Jenna from?
2. Where did Jenna go to college?
3. Does Jenna have a brother or a sister?
4. What does Jenna like to do in her free time?
5. Has Jenna been to Spain before?
